Oral Presentation Guidelines

All presenters should keep in mind that they will be speaking to a general audience and not solely seismologists

Session 1: EEW Around the world
Each talk in this session will be 20 min long: 15 min of presentation with 5 min reserved for questions.

Session 2: Big Earthquakes
Each talk in this session will be 20 min long: 15 min of presentation with 5 min reserved for questions.

Session 3: New Approaches to EEW
Each talk in this session will be 15 min long: 12 min of presentation with 3 min reserved for questions.

For all presentations:
You can email your presentation to Jennifer Strauss (jastrauss {at} Berkeley {dot} edu) by September 2nd at 5pm PDT and she will preload it on the presentation computer for you. Alternatively, you may bring your presentation loaded on a USB key to the registration table when you arrive at the Banatao Auditorium for the conference. We can then ensure that it is loaded and formatted properly before the sessions begin.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

The poster session will be held from 1:30-3pm on Thursday September 4th. You will be given a poster number when you pick up your registration materials on site. Please locate the easel with your number on it and mount your poster there. We will provide an easel, one 36” by 48” foam core, and binder clips to mount your paper poster onto the foam backing. You may mount your poster starting at 8:30 am on Thursday. All posters must be removed by 12:30 pm on Friday.
