Future Work

This year we plan on a statistical analysis of the residuals for all bands over the 163 day time window. Any bands showing statistically significant variation around the time of the earthquake will be expanded in the time window to a four-year analysis in order to better gauge the time-scale on which the outliers are significant. Special attention will be paid to the residuals in the so-called MT "dead-band", near our high frequency cutoff. Since there is very little natural signal or cultural noise in this band (Figures 2.36 and 2.37), it would be the band in which anomalous signals ought to stand out most readily if they were present.
