Location:
Site is located near Mammoth Pool in Kaiser Creek, California, and is under the auspices of Southern California Edison. This site is operated cooperatively with UC Santa Cruz.

Geology:
Granite

Vault/Borehole conditions:
The instruments are sited on a pier in one of the Southern California Edison tunnels for Mammoth Pool. In winters of especially high rain or snowfall, SCE will open the valve in the back of the tunnel to release water from Mammoth Pool. The noise from the flowing water is extremeley high. After a week or two, the valve will be shut and the noise reduced. The valve was opened in 1996 (Feb), 1997 (Jan), 2000 (May).

Data Availability:
BDSN waveforms and associated metadata are available at the Northern California Earthquake Data Center (NCEDC).

Several tools provide access to SEED format data at the NCEDC, both in terms of querying the archives and allowing data requests.

Help on using these tools is available.
