A major earthquake occurred Koryakia, Russia, with epicenter located
about 120 miles NE of Il'pyrskiy, Russia. The Moment Magnitude (Mw)
for this earthquake was determined to be 7.6. Forty people injured and
three villages destroyed; damage estimated at $55 million U.S. dollars.
