8,900 miles NW of Berkeley in region of Kepulauan Mentawai, Indonesia, about
160 miles SSW of Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia. The moment magnitude for the
earthquake
is 7.0.

A minor earthquake occurred at 09:32 PM (PST). This event was located about
1 mile NNW of The Geysers, south of Clear Lake, CA. The moment magnitude
is 4.0.

A strong earthquake occurred at 06:16 AM (PST). The event was located about
10 miles ESE of Wells, NV. The moment magnitude for the earthquake is 6.0.
The maximum modified Mercalli intensity for the earthquake was VI in the area
around the epicenter. At least three people were injured and over twenty
buildings heavily damaged and almost seven hundred buildings slightly damaged
at Wells, Nevada. The earthquake was felt (II) in parts of Arizona, California,
Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and
Wyoming.
