Tributes to Bruce Bolt

On behalf of the Structural Engineering Department of the Universidad Catolica de Chile we would like to express our deep condolences for the passing of Prof. Bruce Bolt. After his visit to Chile following the great earthquake here in 1985, Dr. Bolt encouraged us to start up a strong motion observation network, giving us advice and guidance. Thanks to him we could start our network, and since then we continued collaboration for many years. As former students or colleagues of Dr. Bolt, we express our deepest sympathy to his family, especially to his wife Beverley, and to his colleagues at Berkeley.
