Convenient UC Berkeley parking lots
Parking in UC Berkeley lots is available by permit only. Public parking
in UC Berkeley garages is not available during business hours. They
do ticket ..... After you pick up your permit at either the East or
West kiosk (depending on what you requested), you may try one of the
following parking lots.
- Lot #
- Details
- #1
-
Lower Hearst (indoor parking structure) - west of Euclid,
entrance off of Hearst going west; may have "stacked" parking
available. In this situation, you park in the aisles and
leave your keys with the valet. Check with the attendant
when you arrive. Generally, we try to use it even if the
sign says it is full. At 10:00 a.m. exactly, the unused
carpool spaces open up for general parking and that usually
provides 3 or so spaces. But your timing must be good.
Height clearance for 1st floor level is 6' 10"; clearance
for 2nd and 3rd floor levels is 6' 9".
- #2
-
Upper Hearst (indoor parking structure) - east of Euclid.
Entrances off Hearst going west, Ridge Road, and La Loma Avenue.
Has stacked valet parking. May be a better bet than Lower Hearst.
- #3
-
Haviland Lot (outdoor lot). This is quite close to McCone
and your permit allows you to park here. It is off of the
main campus drive and is accessible from the campus east
entrance (not from the west as it is blocked by a barricade).
We don't have a good sense of when it fills up.
- #4
-
Foothill Lot (outdoor lot; a.k.a. Outer Siberia). This
lot is a hike but generally always has spaces. Located off
of Hearst east of the Foothill Housing complex (proceed
east past the intersection of Hearst and Gayley and turn
off right just past the complex).
- #5
-
Plant Genetics (indoor parking structure; a.k.a. the
West Siberia lot). Clearance for entrance is 7' 0".
This is also a hike but involves less topography than Foothill.
The entrance is off of Oxford, at the extension of Berkeley
Way into the campus (it is an underground lot). Your permit
allows you to park on any level (you are more likely to find
spaces on the 1st floor than on the upper floors in our
experience).
- #6
-
Outdoor lot behind the Upper Hearst Parking Structure.
I don't know anything about this lot, except that it is there.
The entrance is either off of La Loma Avenue or Ridge Road,
or both. This is not shown on the map above.
