2 CONC 1974, and in Erie, PA until August 1974.

2 CONT In August 1974 Win moved to Moscow, Idaho, and entered the University
2 CONC of Idaho College of Law.  Graduated in June 1977.  Worked as law clerk
2 CONC in Boise, Idaho, for Hon. Ray McNichols, U.S. District Court, District
2 CONC of Idaho, from June 1977 to June 1978, at which time he began working
2 CONC as an attorney for the law firm of Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley in
2 CONC Boise, Idaho.  On November 1, 1990, left Hawley Troxell to join the
2 CONC legal department of Morrison Knudsen Corporation, also in Boise,
2 CONC Idaho.   On January 1, 1996, Win became Vice President-Risk Management
2 CONC at MK.

2 CONT As of November 2003, Win had run 15 marathons.

3 CONC Corners to Oil City, but, it turned out, Win's grandfather, Theodore
3 CONC Henry Myers, ended up driving his daughter, Marian, to the hospital
3 CONC for the birth. After the birth, grandfather fell asleep standing up
3 CONC against the wall, as was his custom and practice.  On this occasion,
3 CONC he would often would catch himself sliding down the wall, bounce back

1 NOTE Edwin Apel grew up in Lawrenceville, PA, a section of Pittsburgh.  He
2 CONC attended high school for a while there before joining the U.S. Navy
2 CONC shortly after WW II began.  He tried to joint the Navy on his 17th
2 CONC birthday, October 3, 1943, the minimum age then, but had no birth
2 CONC certificate.  He eventually found the church where he was baptized,
2 CONC and it had a baptismal record that had all the requisite information,
2 CONC allowing him to join the Navy.
2 CONT
2 CONT After joining the Navy, Edwin was sent to the Great Lakes Naval
2 CONC Training Center for what amounted to basic training.  It lasted only
2 CONC three weeks rather than the usual six weeks because of the war.  Of
2 CONC the approximately 100 in his basic training class, three were selected
2 CONC for further schooling.  Edwin was selected for torpedo school, which
2 CONC he attended for about six weeks.  He was then sent to the Aleutian
2 CONC Islands in Alaska, shortly after the Japanese had left, where he
2 CONC remained from about early 1944 to May 1995.  While there he spent most
2 CONC of his time on patrol duty, going about 200-300 miles out from base.
2 CONC In August 1945, just as the war ended in Japan, he was sent to the
2 CONC south Pacific, where he continued as a torpedo man third-class.  He
2 CONC was discharged from the Navy in May 1946 in California, where he took
2 CONC a bus back to Pittsburgh.
2 CONT
2 CONT After leaving returning to Pittsburgh, Edwin finished high school,
2 CONC graduating in 1947 with training as a printer.  He then went to work
2 CONC for the Valley Journal newspaper weekly in Millvale, PA, where he met
2 CONC Marian Myers.  They were engaged to be married in December 1947.  At
2 CONC about that time, Edwin and Marian decided that they would leave
2 CONC Pittsburgh, PA, after marriage, finding jobs elsewhere.  They
2 CONC considered a small town in Ohio just across the Pennsylvania border.
2 CONT
2 CONT However, in about January 1948, Gordon Myers, Marian's uncle, said
2 CONC that he needed help in his printing shop in Oil City, PA, and Edwin
2 CONC moved to Oil City to help Gordon out.  Within a week or so, Gordon had
2 CONC killed a man and was put in jail.  Edwin continued to run the printing
2 CONC shop and living in a little apartment above the printing shop until
2 CONC his marriage in August 1948, after which time his wife Marian joined
2 CONC him in the print shop.

2 CONT Right after his marriage to Marian Myers in 1948, the two of them
2 CONC moved to Blairs Corners, PA, from which Edwin commuted to Oil City to
2 CONC work in the print shop of Marian's uncle, Gordon Myers.  They moved to
2 CONC Oil City in about 1950 and lived in a house on First Street until the
2 CONC fall of 1951, when they bought an old store at 901 Central Avenue, at
2 CONC which place they lived until they sold the house in about 1992.

2 CONT Edwin worked as a printer in the print shop in the basement of 901
2 CONC Central Avenue until the early-1960s, at which time he worked at Lug N
2 CONC Tug, a lumber and hardware store.  In 1963 Edwin almost died of
2 CONC cancer, but miraculously recovered.  Shortly after that he began
2 CONC working as a carpenter, which work he did until he retired in the
2 CONC early 1990s.

1 NOTE Trey Apel was born in Gritman Memorial Hospital two weeks after his

2 CONC of Law.  Weight: 9 lb. 12 oz.  He was held by his father first, as his
2 CONC mother had undergone an emergency general anesthetic.  Trey went
2 CONC directly from the hospital to "Gramma" Edna Capellen's home in Moscow,
2 CONC and then two weeks after his birth flew to Boise, Idaho, with his
2 CONC mother, to meet his father.  He attended Cole Christian School, Boise,

3 CONC Year's Eve, 1973-74.  Cora was real confused; the nurses wanted to tie
3 CONC her down.  Because her daughters did not want her tied down, Win and
3 CONC Lorrie stayed with her.  The next morning Lorrie gave her a bath, and
3 CONC Cora said how much that meant to her.  She ultimately died at 6:10 am,
3 CONC January 12, 1974.

2 CONC of 10 years she moved to Salem and went to school, to Miss Ella Blair
2 CONC and Mr. Snyder he was a very good teacher.  Then she moved to St.

2 CONC teacher is Miss Gouples she likes her, and thinks she will learn very
2 CONC much.  Grace Ashbaugh has a kind Father and Mother.  Her Mother was a
2 CONC school-teacher before she was married, and her Father is a carpenter.
2 CONC She has one brother and two sisters.  Grace said she intends to change

2 CONC quarterly meeting held by Dennis B. Dorsey and J.M. Hudson at
2 CONC Armstrong School House.  She reached the place by running part of the
2 CONC way, just in time to hear Brother Dorsey announce for his text,

2 CONC Mays, son of Thomas Mays & Mary Hamilton. Born on 25 Jan 1787 in South
2 CONC Carolina. Thomas Washington died in 1873; he was 85. Occupation:

2 CONT Thomas W. Mays was a son of Thomas, a veteran of the Revolution, and
2 CONC by occupation a miller and mill-wright.  The family is of Scotch
2 CONC descent, and first settled in this country in the state of South
2 CONC Carolina.  Since Thomas Mays Sr., came to this country, his
2 CONC descendants have always been identified with the milling interest.
2 CONC Thomas W. Mays reared a family of twelve children: Mrs. Polly Karns;
2 CONC Henry; James; Mrs. Sarah Shaw; George W.; Mrs. Nancy White; Mrs.
2 CONC Henrietta Shoup; John; Jessie; Louis A.; Mrs. Emily J. Morrow; and
2 CONC Oliver P., all of whom grew to maturity and reared families.  Thomas
2 CONC W., in partnership with John Myers, built the original predecessor of
2 CONC Gierling's mill, in Richland, the first in that township.  Four of his
2 CONC sons chose milling as a business: George W.; John, of Mill Village,
2 CONC Erie county; Jesse, of Rockland, where he owns a mill near Slab

2 CONT "James Stroble Myers, one of the ablest jurists of western
2 CONC Pennsylvania, and familiarly know as Colonel Myers, was a descendant
2 CONC of Frederick Myers.... James S. Myers, the youngest of a family of
2 CONC thirteen children, was born on the 9th day of June, 1813. He remained
2 CONC with his parents until January 12, 1828, at which time he came to
2 CONC Franklin, his father having
2 CONT indentured him to Nathaniel Cary to learn the tailor's trade. After
2 CONC becoming proficient in that calling, he worked three years as a
2 CONC journeyman tailor at Brownsville, Blairsville, and other places in the
2 CONC western part of the state, and in 1832 located in Franklin, opening a
2 CONC shop on Thirteenth street, near Liberty, where he carried on a
2 CONC successful business for some years. On the 8h of April 1831,he married
2 CONC Miss Emily Bunnell, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Davis) Brunnell.
2 CONC It was at this period that Mr. Myers developed those qualities of
2 CONC energy, application, and systematic endeavor which were the foundation
2 CONC of his subsequent success in life. Owing to the lack of educational
2 CONC facilities at that time he had been obliged to start out in the world
2 CONC with a limited knowledge of books, and with no capital save a stout
2 CONC heart and strong physical constitution, and the mother-wit and common
2 CONC sense inherited from his parentage. While attending the demands of his
2 CONC shop he laid out a course for his future which seemed hedged with
2 CONC difficulties, but which he resolutely carried out. Although carrying

2 CONC sudden death of Mrs. A.J. Dearolph.  She was called to rest after
2 CONC several hours of great suffering from the fatal grasp of apoplexy.
2 CONC Her kind disposition and cordial greeting made every visitor feel
2 CONC welcome at her home.  She was a faithful, consistent member of the
2 CONC Reformed Church at Monroe.  That she was held in high esteem by the
2 CONC community was witnessed by neighbors and friends far and hear who
2 CONC attended on the day of her funeral.  She leaves her husband, two
