EPS 150, Course Schedule, Fall 2016

ACCESS SCHEDULE, READING LISTS AND WRITING ASSIGNMENTS VIA bcourses

The two case studies will span six weeks each. We will begin each case study with an introductory lecture providing background on the methodologies used, data sets available and other general aspects. The next five weeks will involve in-depth analysis of the case-study topics.
The presenters for each topic will use ~20 minutes to provide a clear overview of the papers, a list of the main points, background material that helps better understand the issues, and a short list of questions for subsequent discussion. They will prepare a 1-2 page handout with a summary and the discussion questions to aid in this effort. All the other students will prepare a brief (≤ 220 words!) abstract on the weekly topics (i.e., all except for the presenters of that week). At the end of the semester, you will write a proposal on a case-study topic as a formatted 4-page document, including ≤ 660 words body text, 3 figures and 5 or more references.
