Field trip to Medicine Lake Obsidian Flows
In August 2002, we took a brief field trip to Medicine Lake volcano to collect samples for Jenny Ives' beam time at Los Alamos (a study of microstructure in obsidian), samples and images for Helge Gonnermann (study of the origin and implications of banding on obsidian), and pumice for Bruno Cagnoli (study of pycroclastic flow dynamics).
