Extra Credit

A total of 5% points are available as extra credit for completion of ONE of the following extra credit options. All questions about the extra credit should be directed to Richard Allen.

Option 1: Research the effects of a past California earthquake

Instructions and other files/information you will need:

  • Extra credit instructions - START HERE
  • Earthquake list - select three earthquakes that you are interested in researching
  • Example earthquake summary for Loma Prieta
  • "Blank" word doc to add your earthquake summary to
  • Permission form - print and sign when you hand in your work

    Option 2: Prepare a graphic/cartoon illustrating earthquake effects

    Instructions and other files/information you will need:

  • Permission form - print and sign when you hand in your work

    Option 3: Propose your own earthquake effects extra credit assignment

    The purpose of these extra credit assignments is to develop materials about earthquake effects that can be used to educate the public about earthquakes. If you have an idea of how this could be done that you would like to turn into an extra credit assignment, then talk to Rihard Allen about your proposal.
