Plate 1 Crustal thickness variations across Iceland. ICECRTb is obtained by firstly determining crustal thickness based on an isostatic model, then using our various constraints to determine variations from the isostatic model. There is good resolution onshore, poor resolution around the outer coastal regions, and no resolution offshore. The crustal thickness shown offshore is simply that predicted with our isostatic relation. The crustal thickness on Iceland varies between 15 and 46 km.
