Discover SolEx

SolEx is a model of combined water, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide and hydrogen chloride (COHSCl) solubilities in basalt. It is based on the COH solubility model of Dixon (1997), and uses the empirical parameterisation of S and Cl partition coefficients of Lesne et al. (subj) to calculate mixed volatile behaviours.

PI and SiO2 parameterisations.

Describe melt chemical composition using either the PI parameterisation of Dixon (1997) or the SiO2 parameterisation of Dixon et al. (1997) and Newman and Lowenstern (2002).

Open vs. Closed System Degassing.

Both open- and closed-system degassing can be modelled. Select the degassing style from the drop-down menu.

bullet Using degassing styles

Two output styles for results.

All results are output as a tab-delimited text file to the user's desktop. Results of particular "Pressures of Interest" are output to the Results Window.
