Ann Blythe has done an extensive survey of fission track ages in the San Gabriel Mountains in the vicinity of our sampling site. As you can see from this image, ages are controlled most strongly by the complex uplift patterns of different fault-bounded blocks. With that said, the 31 Ma average age from out site is at least consistent with regional nearby samples but it is difficult to say much more.
