CONCLUSIONS

Preliminary sample results show that:

• Assuming Byerlee FrictionÖ

  The location sampled never experienced an
  
  earthquake with > 4 - 6 m slip (~ Mw 7.6 - 7.9)

• Assuming at least one earthquake of that size occurredÖ

  San Gabriel Fault is weaker than predicted by
  
  Byerlee Friction with Hydrostatic Pore Pressure
  

Still Unresolved:

• Could fluid flow still be responsible for transporting heat away on the 30 minute time scale?
