MAUD

Introduction to MAUD

MAUD is a Rietveld code to analyze diffraction spectra. It has been written and is maintained by Luca Lutterotti at the University of Trento. The Java code can be downloaded from his website that also contains a tutorial (MAUD). In Berkeley we are using it to analyze neutron diffraction data, especially collected with the TOF diffractometer HIPPO at LANSCE and synchrotron diffraction images. Emphasis is on texture. Below are procedures and examples to practice.

Download a tutorial for texture analysis of HIPPO neutron diffraction data.

The instructions for neutron diffraction have been published in Powder Diffraction 25, 283-296 (2010). Be aware that some details have changed (Schmitt et al. J. Appl. Cryst. 2023).

To download with Explorer use right mouse button: "Save target as..." or "Save link as..." The pdf file gives instructions, the zip file contains test data.
