Where can I search an earthquake catalog?

If you want to find about historical earthquakes in a particular area, there are several resources at your disposal.

The USGS NEIC has put together a nice collection of earthquake information on United States seismicity, with specific information for each state.

Many seismological organizations provide the capability for online catalog searches. By entering the latitude and longitude of your area of interest and by specifying a time and magnitude intervals, you may produce a list of earthquakes.

Individual groups also make their catalogs accessible online.
